Do Men Avoid Intuition?

In my years of advising, intuitive consulting and workshop facilitating, I have noticed one strange thing? My clients are mostly women. Why?

Is it that women are more intuitive than men? Of course not! Many of the worlds incredible “intuitives” are men, so what explains the gender discrepancy?

First let’s define what we mean by intuition. In this context, I refer to intuition as:

A sense of knowing. An accurate and reliable combination of inner and outer insight, wisdom and guidance. It is listening to our inner creator. An interconnection with the original source of creativity known by many names; the Field, Infinite Intelligence, the Collective Unconscious, Divine Intelligence, Spirit, Tao, All That Is It, God, etc. This source can be distinguished from the inner critic or ego because it provides is benevolent truth and direction and is often associated with what we call gut feeling or 6^th sense.

So what’s happening that it appears that more women than men are open to using, expanding and acknowledging their intuition? Why are women disproportionately the ones seeking advice from credible intuitive consultants, participating in workshops, exploring their spirituality, reading relevant literature, engaging in yoga and meditation and seeking holistic nutrition.

Well there are a few theories floating around. One possible theory suggests that many men in our current Western society rely more on logic and linear thinking. Another indicates that anything related to intuition and feelings, even when included with traditional rational problem-solving is seen as too feminine and even weak. Some believe that intuition itself is a myth and women are just more attuned with the natural cycles due to their biology and calling this cyclical attunement intuition. Still others believe that women truly are more intuitive and always will be more open to expressing and admitting that they are.

How can an awareness be created that intuition is a natural but powerful ability accessible to both genders? That both genders are capable of accessing and expressing in equal intensity

Feng Shui and Your Wealth

According to the ancient art of placement, moving certain objects in your environment affects you very directly positively or negatively.

I think we can all agree there is always a good time to focus on increasing our wealth. In this case we want to increase the financial flow in our lives. According to feedback I have received in the past, the good news is, working on your wealth corner in your home or office, makes a difference and increases your wealth. So for our purposes we will focus on the wealth corner. Money is flowing somewhere out there, so keep changing things in your wealth corner until you see the flow coming in.

I bet you have felt the pinch of the economic downturn. Where did all the wealth go? Well it’s still somewhere. The question is how do you keep the wealth flowing into your life.

Whether you are new to Feng Shui or practice the art of placement regularly, let's revisit it and watch abundance flow back in to our lives. This is a great opportunity accept it and express gratitude too. Also it is a chance to keep the flow moving by sharing and spending lovingly and wisely.

Use the Bagua (compass) above as a guide. Find the wealth corner in your home, office, desk or location of your choice. Once you are there, place what you want to manifest; cash, new work, or wealth in another form. It's important not to assign the Universe where the source is coming from. Let IT give you wealth and abundance from the source that is for the highest and greatest good of all. However, in the case where you simply want more cash use a red envelope (any one or feng shui one) and put money of any denomination, or coins in here.

The element for this is area wood. You can use anything made out of wood or even fresh plants. You can also place objects that are red, purple, blue in this area such as candles, decorative items, or anything signifying wealth. Place coins and images of money here as well.

You can also place a small water fountain here and have it represent wealth flow into your life.

Have fun and be creative.

Do not to let the North, South, East, West directions confuse you. You simply go by the bagua and the space you are in. Not the outside world. So for instance when you enter a room or are looking at a specific space, see yourself in the center of the map. In front is Recognition, reputation and fame, to your right in the upper corner is romantic relationship, to you right/center is family, right lower corner helpful people, etc. Sometimes those who perform Feng Shui services have a strict rule about location, but that is a matter of training and tradition. The Universe works on Intent, not hard, human-made rules.

All of us are endowed with intuition which carries us through our lives. Some people have it more fine tuned than others. These persons can be called psychic, clairvoyant, fortune-tellers, sensitives, intuitives or simply gifted but in fact, it’s a skill that can be developed by anyone who is interested and dedicated to this very personal and powerful process.

Sometimes the incentive for accessing our intuition is when the use of logic, analytical thinking and the rational mind becomes insufficient in reaching our goals and aspirations and our access to creativity becomes blocked. That’s when accessing our intuition becomes necessary. It simply takes a desire and plan to kick it into action and heighten its use.

The of Genesis Working Things Out

Working Things Out (WTO) is about living your life by integrating all aspects of you’re mind, body and spirit using your innate ability of Intuition. Providing Empowerment, encouraging you to exercise your Free Will and help myself and others to cultivate compassion are my main goals. But before anything else, I’ll give you the mandatory list of credentials and then get right into the nitty gritty of what WTO is all about.

I use my experience in research, academia, counseling and spiritual inquiry, to weave stories of the complex human response to life's transformative experiences. I perform intuitive work in the form of consultations, workshops and writings which are a culmination of over 21 years of crisis counseling/intervention, academic advising, and independent research. Much of the work incorporates decades of spiritual inquiry, writing and experiential background. I also sing Jazz Standards for performances in various venues and also for fundraisers that sponsor humane and other worthy causes.

I was born and raised in New York City, lived in San Francisco for few years and am currently back in New York. I have a Bachelor's in General Psychology and Master's Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and studied three additional years at the doctoral level conducting research on Near Death Experiences and Environmental Psychology. There are several services provided. But there is a story behind each service; a reason and history. I perform work that uses INTUITION as its primary skill. The years of academia, counseling, researching were foundational for me. I needed to be scholarly and intellectual because it is what is emphasized in today’s educational system. But my unique exposure to various experiences as a child and young adult had triggered the introspective intuitive side of me. I worked very hard at suppressing it and was quite successful for a while. But life’s and the Universe have a way of equalizing things and creating balance in the end. Fortunately for my clients, readers and audience, I work everyday at balancing both the right and left side of my brain as well as my logical and spiritual side.

I’ve done thousands of consultations and use various tools and skills. I listen and then use something like a Tarot card deck for general intuitive queries. I like to explain that Tarot is not some scary, silly trick card thing. It’s a very serious tool with a rich and complex history. Yes, many misuse and misunderstand but that is what my other writings are for. They are there to give information, explanations and resources so you can determine for yourself what tool if any will work for you.

I enjoy collaborating with others and find that competing for resources and clients doesn’t work in this field. We all have something unique to add to the mix. I also take pride in the fact that I like to offer real world tools you can use to have you re-ignite your own intuition throughout the process of working together and beyond.
