Near Death Experience or Near Life Experience

Can a Death Experience be Seen as a

Near Life Experience?

"Every difficulty in life presents us with an opportunity to turn inward and to invoke our own submerged inner resources. The trials we endure can and should introduce us to our strengths." – Epictetus, Greek Stoic philosopher (55 AD 135 AD)

World renowned peak performance trainer, Jack Canfield, was once asked in an interview which book most influenced his life. He replied that Dr. Raymond Moodys book, Life After Life, made a tremendous impact in his life as an author and coach.

Canfield went on to recount how Dr. Moody studied several hundred people who had near-death experiences in which they were clinically dead for several minutes. Dr. Moody found they all experienced a similar phenomenon of this lifting out-of-body sensation traveling through a dark tunnel, and at the end of the tunnel, encountering a spiritual being of light that loved them unconditionally.

The part of the book that really struck Canfield was when he recalled that, according to Dr. Moody's research, these people were asked just two questions by this loving being of light:

  1. How have you expanded your capacity to love? and
  2. What wisdom have you gained from your experience? [Taken from Barnes and Nobel's Meet the Writer section for Jack Canfield].
Dr. Moody's book title leaves us with a clue that perhaps these so called near-death events should actually be called near-life experiences because the people undergoing this phenomenon are brought closer to the real meaning of life and the experience of being truly alive. After stripping away all the non-essentials, isn't that what life is really all about? Love and wisdom.

But when life hands us a particularly difficult challenge, instead of making out of it a hearty stew of love and wisdom, we often become like dead people walking draining our life force by angrily fighting the challenge, or by complaining about it, or denying it, or numbing ourselves from the pain by popping pills, drinking, or indulging in other distractions.

Every challenge, every difficulty, every misfortune – whether it's

  • dealing with a difficult boss,
  • an unexpected layoff, a hostile relative,
  • a bankruptcy, an illness, a divorce,
  • or a bitter foe
– all these events are special gifts from the universe to help us grow as spiritual beings who are truly alive to the human experience. Embrace these challenges as rare opportunities to help you expand your capacity to love and gain ever increasing wisdom.

Small goals and small problems do not really help us grow all that much. Welcome the big ones! You have to tear muscle to build it by lifting a sufficient amount of weight. Welcome the big challenges as character-building exercises to help you grow beyond your perceived limits.

The Hero's Journey is all about courageously facing these life-challenges and assimilating them into ever expanding spheres of love and wisdom to re-connect and tune with the higher Self. Delve deep within and you will find yourself bathed in this all-enveloping, all-forgiving, all-accepting field of love. As The Journey author, Brandon Bays, likes to say, "You are the love that you have been seeking."

My Quest To Bring Common Sense Manners Back Because Rudeness Sucks

The Quest to Bring Manners Back Because Rudeness Sucks!

Who would’ve thought that someone born and raised in the South Bronx would have the life purpose of being on a quest to bring common sense manners back? No? Well, how rude of them!

I’ve always dreamt of a harmonious world where everyone is happy, friendly, courteous and vibrant. Clearly this isn’t the world we actually live it. It’s a big world with lots of people and many don’t have manners which can lead to all kinds of everyday societal problems. These can range from small irritations to full blown violence.
I’m an Intuitive Empath who has worked with thousands of people as a crisis counselor, college advisor, business/relationship consultant, spiritual coach, commentator, and writer.

My most passionate project is the completion of a book and project (one-woman storytelling performance) called “Oh No You Didn’t- A Quest to Bring Common Sense Manners Back, Part 1 I See Dumb People and Part 2 Stand Clear of the Loco Trains©”.

Through my work, I share many stories I have experienced or witnessed that show examples of lack of manners and rudeness along with its possible consequences. I do it however with a mix of seriousness and humor to get the various points across.

Consider these everyday instances:
  • Someone who sneezes or coughs all over you and a week later you're sick
  • A smoker who puffs the smoke right at your direction
  • Your on a date and the person picks up their ringing mobile phone, three times!
  • You are walking on a busy street and someone bangs really hard into you and just keeps on walking leaving you bruised and stunned.
  • You open the door for someone and they just glide right in without saying thank you or acknowledging your presence.
  • You are with your romantic partner in a restaurant, you go to the restroom and a woman waits for you to leave to hit on him/her
  • You need to use the 1 person restroom but can't go in because someone is in there on a phone call.

This is for those who are dealing with rude people know they are not alone in their frustration and have the desire for a better way. This is also for those who are being rude to know, what they are doing is not welcomed, acceptable and will no longer be tolerated without some consequence (e.g. exposure, reprimand, even legal action for what leads to violence).

There are other works and books out there but I find them a bit dry and the attempts at humor forced because the authors limited connection with a more diverse audience. They also leave out the very important examples of what can go very wrong if we don’t heed manners. This misses a huge market of everyday people. I talk to people from all walks of life who constantly share their desire for more manners. My book and through my social media and promotion will reach this wider audience with real life examples, humor, and stories that happen all the time.

I want others to join my quest and via common sense manners create harmony and decrease violent incidents exploring one Oh No Moment at a time.

If you would like more information on me and my quest please do contact me. I am of course on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Youtube, Google+, Pinterest, Blogger, and BlogTalkRadio and all can be accessed via my website: www.thisisdiana.com and

Your Life Purpose

You have a life purpose. A reason for BEING here and now and isn't merely to just eat, drink and poop. It's to use your will, learn, affect yourself and others around you. You can do that with the gifts indwelled within you.

You may or may not know what does gifts are, but they are there. Once you start connecting to this purpose you will face resistance and fear and they WILL be in your face. Just know it and keep going trusting your Higher Self.

Expect that this resistance and fear will take many different, ingenious and creative forms. Your Higher Self can see through all of this. Is it distractions, is it illnesses, is it staying comfortably numb?

How do we stay on our personal path? Check your breathing, silence your mind via meditation (from simple to complex forms) and always seek TRUTH, because truth births perspective and joy.
