Book Coming Soon: Images from Book in a Cup or Shirt

Nine years ago I embarked in one the biggest challenges of my life. To write a book about spiritual awakening and the paranormal. A challenge because I was in the middle of my beautiful maelstrom.

Now that I'm at the eve of submitting my book for publishing I am happy to share some of the images in a shirt, mug and more items.

The images as you will read from the book, appeared in my life at moments where I felt the world was collapsing around me. They gave me hope and what I needed to move through these dark moments. I trust it will do the same for you.

The inspiration for my book "You're  Not Crazy, It's Paranormal!" was this orb I captured in my camera during an event. It shows various faces. The owner of the venue thanked me for saving his marriage since it was evidence his place was indeed haunted. Get your very own here

More images captured is not manipulated in any way. It was captured as such in my moment of need when I asked for help from above, and I literally got it!

More images and fun designs coming soon including ones on MANNERS...my other passion!

Enjoy...share, forward and have and inspiration.

7 Ways to Avoid Online Negativity

Networking online is a great thing. For many entrepreneurs and artists isn't a luxury but a necessity. It's a tremendous helps you stay connected with your peers and can make working from home a little less lonely. However, there are some pitfalls to networking online.

On the internet you don’t have face-to-face interaction with people. You also have a larger amount of people to deal with at any one time. Most of the people you’ll meet are anonymous and this anonymity can often create a feeling of freedom in people. Meaning they may not moderate the things they say and often times may behave completely different to how they would behave offline. This can lead to a lot of negativity and often harshness.

Another issue that is crucial to know is that many people actually enjoy hurting others online because they feel invulnerable. They feel it's safe to do so. Some even have a classification and are known as "trolls", cyber bullies and so on. Regardless of where you go online, be it a social media site like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, or forums people often have lowered inhibitions.

Here are a few tips to help you avoid the negative situations that sometimes creep up in the online world.

#1  Find the right networking group. If you love to visit a specific forum but find that you always leave there feeling worse than when you first logged in, it may be time to cut your losses and find a new group.

Some forums can be very exciting and fast moving but that also tends to draw a large variety of members. At the worst of times, people may get insulting or downright mean. This isn’t really a situation you want to be in, specifically when you need to stay positive in building your business.

The bottom line here is that if you don’t feel good, you should move on. Listen to your gut instincts about what you’re feeling and don’t worry if the specific forum seems to be “the place” to be – if the negativity is too much for you, you’ll be better off building your network elsewhere.

#2  Read between the lines. Often times, when people write online what they say can be misinterpreted as “harsh” or “negative” when it may not be the case. Remember, online we can’t see people’s gestures or facial expressions so it may be worth not reading too much into what someone is saying.

If you’re in doubt you can always ask them to explain what they mean. You may find they didn’t mean to sound negative in the first place.

#3  Find a mastermind group. Mastermind groups can be a comforting place to find support and build a strong network, as long as you choose a group of like-minded individuals. Researching and taking the time to find the right mastermind group is worth the time, as the right group may help your business grow in leaps and bounds.

A good mastermind group is worth its weight in gold. You’ll be able to connect with people who are positive and there to help each other. The negativity and playground games get left behind and you can get down to the business of building your business.

#4 Ignore the situation. There is always someone who ruins it for others. Take the strength away from negative types by simply ignoring them. Enjoy your networking group and look over the few bad apples. With any luck, they’ll get tired and go find a different playground to spend time in.

#5  Build yourself up. Negativity can be found everywhere we look for it. So perhaps it’s time to look the other way – to positivity. Work on yourself first by visualizing and living the life you want to live. Stay positive about your business and you’ll attract more like-minded people your way, making the negative ones seem insignificant.

#6 Protect yourself. Try to avoid putting information about yourself that can be too personal. Some people use this to specifically target, harass and hurt others.

#7 Take the Lead. Use common sense manners in what you post. Sometimes we can post something that is incendiary. That can open up a can of worms and end friendships unnecessarily.

We are becoming more interconnected everyday thanks to fast moving technology. At the end of the day, we are still human and courtesy goes a very long way. For those who have been abused, bullied and insulted online, take heart in knowing that there will always be the other side of supportive, well-mannered people just as ready to be there for you. Don't give up looking for that mastermind, it IS out there.

How the Heck do You Get Your Website Noticed? Get Five Tips Here!

We are all Connected in one way or another via Social Media and Technology. So how do you share your story.

Many years ago I was studying science and Psychology. My life took a different turn after I had some huge personal challenges beat me. I surrendered to use both my intuitive abilities use my years of education, work experience and my personal life struggles to find my purpose AND help others.

One of my passions is the use of manners. To me this includes sharing information that will help others reach their goals. Below is one of the ways I found to share some of this with you.

If  you are somewhere in your life looking to share your story through a business, artistic expression or an important cause, then chances you will be using social media technology.

One of the many ways to get your message out is through your own domain name and website. Use your creativity and do take some time to find the right domain name for you and use ".com" whenever possible for more of a global reach.

Below are 5 Quick Tips To Get Website Traffic Fast!

Don't worry, in other posts you'll find many other ways to get your message out if you don't have or want a website.

I know all this can be frustrating. The information  can take years to learn but below you will find 5 tips to save you time and energy.

Online, one of the most significant keys to success is getting website traffic.  The more visitors you have, the better your sales and profits.  Presumably you have a niche and you know your keywords, and regularly conduct keyword research to stay on top of what’s popular.  Based on those assumptions here are five quick and easy tips to get website traffic fast!

Tip #1  Make sure you’re actually tagging your keywords.

Do you spend a lot of time optimizing your content and then neglect to tag them on your webpage?  Tags are where search engines look and if there are no tags they’ll pass right by your web pages.  Here’s a quick brief on tags.

There are a number of tag types including,

* Title tags.  Title tags are quite possibly the most important place to situate your keywords.  Here’s what they look like - Primary keyword phrase here.

Your title tag is where you place your primary keyword or keyword phrase.  The sentence will describe your business in less than 90 characters.

* Header Tags.  Header tags are next in order of importance to search engines.  They’re ranked in order of importance and look like this -

Primary and/or Secondary keywords here

The “1” designates this header as the most important header on the page.

* Meta Tags. Meta tags provide the small descriptive text found underneath the title tag on the search engine results page.  Like title tags these should be kept brief, informative and up to date.

* Alt Tags.  Alt tags are used to provide a text description of a graphic.  Each graphic on your site should have a description and an alt tag.

Tip #2 Add content to your site daily

Content is essential for traffic and a top search engine ranking.  Content is what search engine spiders look for and index - without it there’s nothing to index or rank.  Give visitors and search engines a reason to visit and index your site. Make a commitment to provide daily, optimized content and your traffic will soar. However, this isn't written in stone, but a suggestion. At minimum announce to your audience approximate times you will update and add content.

Tip #3 Procure valuable and relevant incoming links

The more websites which link to your webpages the more valuable search engines perceive you to be, though not all links are created equal.  Search engines give more leverage to links from sites which are popular and credible and from sites which are relevant to your website topic.

There are different types of links.

- A direct link looks like a basic website address, for example, www.yourwebsite.com

- A text link occurs when the webpage address is embedded in the text.  Readers simply click on the link and are redirected to a new website page.

- If the link is to an internal web page, for example an article published on a website, rather than the home page, it is called a “deep link.”

You can encourage linking to your website by:

* Adding content to your site.
* Submitting to article directories.
* Publishing press releases.
* Blogging and participating in social networking forums, chat rooms and social networking sites.

Tip #4 Be Social!

Now more than ever before, internet marketing is about building a community.  Whether you offer a forum on your website or you participate in social networking sites, social networking is a valuable traffic generating tactic.  Sites like Facebook and Twitter can be powerful tools for generating links and traffic to your site – create a profile and then post comments, links to your site and ideas which generate conversation.

Get involved - many chat rooms and forums are industry specific, find those which cater to your industry, and begin participating.  Speak to and connect with a highly targeted audience.

Tip #5 Advertise for more exposure and traffic

Advertising, when handled strategically, can be used to promote your content and products or services.  PPC advertising is often the tool of choice because you control the advertising budget on a daily basis and have the tools to test and track your advertising efforts.  Once you’ve honed your PPC ads the return on investment can be phenomenal in terms of traffic and purchases.

For maximum results, create a traffic and SEO (search engine optimization, how fast your website appears on a search) strategy.  Outline your plan and your goals and then take the necessary action.  Take advantage of these five traffic and search engine tips to boost your business.

My Quest To Bring Common Sense Manners Back Because Rudeness Sucks

The Quest to Bring Manners Back Because Rudeness Sucks!

Used with permission from Howard McWilliam / Town & Country Magazine

This is Diana is Available for: Commentary, Interviews, and Interactive Storytelling

Who would’ve thought that someone born and raised in the South Bronx would have the life purpose of being on a quest to bring common sense manners back? No? Well, how rude of them!

I’ve always dreamt of a harmonious world where everyone is happy, friendly, courteous and vibrant. Clearly this isn’t the world we actually live it. It’s a big world with lots of people and many don’t have manners which can lead to all kinds of everyday societal problems. These can range from small irritations to full blown violence.
I’m an Intuitive Empath who has worked with thousands of people as a crisis counselor, college advisor, business/relationship consultant, spiritual coach, commentator, and writer.

My most passionate project is the completion of a book and project (one-woman storytelling performance) called “Oh No You Didn’t- A Quest to Bring Common Sense Manners Back, Part 1 I See Dumb People and Part 2 Stand Clear of the Loco Trains©”.

Through my work, I share many stories I have experienced or witnessed that show examples of lack of manners and rudeness along with its possible consequences. I do it however with a mix of seriousness and humor to get the various points across.

Consider these everyday instances:
  • Someone who sneezes or coughs all over you and a week later you're sick
  • A smoker who puffs the smoke right at your direction
  • Your on a date and the person picks up their ringing mobile phone, three times!
  • You are walking on a busy street and someone bangs really hard into you and just keeps on walking leaving you bruised and stunned.
  • You open the door for someone and they just glide right in without saying thank you or acknowledging your presence.
  • You are with your romantic partner in a restaurant, you go to the restroom and a woman waits for you to leave to hit on him/her
  • You need to use the 1 person restroom but can't go in because someone is in there on a phone call.

This is for those who are dealing with rude people know they are not alone in their frustration and have the desire for a better way. This is also for those who are being rude to know, what they are doing is not welcomed, acceptable and will no longer be tolerated without some consequence (e.g. exposure, reprimand, even legal action for what leads to violence).

Take a 1 question survey and get a FREE ebook with email sign-up
http://www.thisisdiana.com/#!social-forum/c1tzi

There are other works and books out there but I find them a bit dry and the attempts at humor forced because the authors limited connection with a more diverse audience. They also leave out the very important examples of what can go very wrong if we don’t heed manners. This misses a huge market of everyday people. I talk to people from all walks of life who constantly share their desire for more manners. My book and through my social media and promotion will reach this wider audience with real life examples, humor, and stories that happen all the time.

I want others to join my quest and via common sense manners create harmony and decrease violent incidents exploring one Oh No Moment at a time.

If you would like more information on me and my quest please do contact me. I am of course on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Youtube, Google+, Pinterest, Blogger, and BlogTalkRadio and all can be accessed via my website: www.thisisdiana.com and

Social Media Technology Love it or Hate it, It's Here to Stay

Social Media Technology: Love or Hate it

I’ve made this as a very simple, quick and easy way to get familiar or re-familiarize yourself with Social Media Technology (SMT). I have also included some links for some of the main sites should you wish to explore or try some of these.

Much of this is what I have personally discovered. continue to learn using SMT, and as someone who has a love/hate relationship with it. However, I have found that it is necessary to make an effort to at least have an idea of what's going on out there since we are all being affected in one way or another. Just look around you now, from your watch, phone, television, even appliances. SMT is part of our lives.

Due to its nature, it is impossible to include all that is related to social media technology. But ideally everyone can use this to have confirmation, learn something new, and food for thought and engage more fully their journey through the social media world. I also would like to save you the time and frustration I have gone through navigating through this new world of ours.

Social Media Technology, What is this?

What is social media?Social Media is a type of technology (SMT). One that creates very strong feelings in many of us. Many of us either hate it or love it . I personally have a love/hate relationship with it. It is my contention that for every pro there is a con. And if you are undecided on how to use it, I believe considering both sides is crucial. At minimum we should know what SMT is because it is literally everywhere and can’t be ignored, for too long anyway.

Some researchers are studying the effects social media has on us. SMT however, is constantly evolving and at an ever-increasing rate. The effect of on us is still undetermined and unfolding. It is unlikely we will come up with any definitive conclusion because of its dynamic nature. So the bad news is, resistance is truly futile when it comes to social media in our lives. Good news, there is something for everyone at any level that we can make use of.

This is what we do know thus far. More people are using SMT than ever in our known history. People are spending more time per day on one type of social media or another.

It used to be that teens and those in their twenties were the main users for SMT. Now people of all ages are using it and those 65 and older are using it at an unexpectedly high rate.
My experience,  feelings and why I use SMT
Many people don’t know this about me because they may know me as an entertainer, speaker, event lover, but I actually did my Master’s Thesis on the woes and fears of the use of evolving technology. That is because of my own fear associated with its use. Unlike many young people today, I wasn’t born with computers and other technologies being ubiquitous. In fact, we took basic typewriting courses during my high school days, on a typewriter not computer. If there was a computer it had that awful black screen with green fonts and DOS (Disk Operating System) was the main way of using it. We didn't have "window", swiping or systems the way we easily use them today.

In a fairly short time, things have evolved and changed to the point where using a basic computer seems like childsplay for most people. Just slide here, touch there, click other there and boom, you get things done.

What SMT is in a nutshell
Types of SMT range from huge to small websites, programs, applications (apps), and other technology.

Some examples SMT is used for are connecting people to each other via writing, photos, texting, work projects, video chatting, vlogs (videoblogs) networking, gaming, dating, dining, social bookmarking certain sites and general entertainment (streaming movies and shows online).

There are more and more devices using SMT. We have the traditional computer,  mobile smart phones, tablets, cameras, shopping registers, and emerging technology devices like Google glasses with a computer attached. Anywhere you go, even at home, these are there. And they are somehow becoming interconnected with each other. Did you notice that many websites now allow you to sign in not just through themselves but through other sites like Facebook and Twitter?

The Human Factor
We as humans have to find a way to adapt to this in one way or another. Some refuse to engage and go live in a technology-less sub-cultural systems. But that is quite rare and very challenging. So more of us are using SMT as said above. That means we will come in contact with all kinds of characters through this virtual world. These include, regular everyday folks, friends, family, business owners, huge business entities, artists, entertainers, the vain, people with political agendas, those who want to do good for the world, bullies...the list goes on. We have to learn how to use common sense manners and caution to get through our days avoiding the bad seeds out there.

Benefits and Transformation
SMT has changed from simply sharing information in a virtual environment, to a way of creating and establishing a presence and reputation in both the virtual and real world. This includes making money, career, health, social engagement and many other facets of our lives. It is literally changing the way we as humans communicate, process about share information.

Our brains have something Neuro-scientists call Neuroplasticity. That is, are brains our much more flexible in its neural connection that we ever thought possible. We can learn new things in amazing, previously unknown ways. With social media and current technology our brains are literally processing information/data differently.

Why Love SMT
It can make life easier in many ways if used properly. From paying bills, finding information fast. to sending out instant messages. The days of the carrier pigeons are gone. In addition, the below is also possible:
  • Anyone can be a “star”
  • Connections with things you care about (niche interests)
  • Money can potentially be made (e-commerce) and other goods and services can be exchanged
  • There is a global reach. At no other time, have we been able to reach anyone, anywhere in the world about anything. As long as they have access to the technology, we can reach out to each other. So when we say the world wide web or interconnection, it is quite literal.
  • It has become one of the best for hearing about breaking news anywhere in the world.
  • It can help create romantic relationships, business liaisons, and humane causes
  • Can have a positive impact psychologically by being in the know on so many issues and information that otherwise be inaccessible
  • Used for teaching and working better

Why Hate SMT
The reasons to hate SMT are the opposite of the reasons to love it.
  • It’s complexity--it can be extremely hard to use and understand
  • Bombardment of info--too much too fast
  • Feeling disconnected
  • Relationships can be destroyed (all kinds)
  • One can be bullied, staked by predators including sexual predators from anywhere, at anytime
  • A target by spammers, scammers and all kinds cyber criminals
  • Our privacy is decreasing exponentially (cameras everywhere) we can even be seen by our monitors and home cameras in our own home
  • We can be left behind by society if we are not caught up with this virtual world movement

Despite Loving or Hating, What to do with it?

Although the feelings toward SMT are all over the place, there are benefits to using any of these platforms. It all depends on what your goals are. The tricky issue is that much of this technology is moving so fast it's hard to figure out if your goals are in tune with the technology itself. Either way, you have to start somewhere and probably already have. So consider:

~If you just like to watch, read, learn and observe any of these will be fun to try.

~If you want to participate, communicate actively, write, add photos, videos, or any content, each of these has different ways you can do this and it depends on what is your favorite style.

~If you want to avoid it as much as possible, at least know what any particular SMT is being used for and if one day it will affect you directly or indirectly.

The Big and Popular ones ones...I have either put the general link (if it's available) or a link to a page I use for you to see how I'm using some of these.

Niche Social Media and applications for reviews, discounts and more

Other niche, evolving apps
  • QR code
  • Goto Meeting- virtual business meetings, webinars and conferences (online search)
Sites and Apps For Dating
There are sites for travel discounts, service and product reviews, you name it. All you have to do is do a search and try not to get overwhelmed. The more popular ones will likely appear first but some gems can appear later on in the search pages so take a look at what's there too.

As the title states, SMT is here to stay. You can hate it, love it but will eventually use it so why not get to know it.

Follow ME--Lil' Tips I've Learned and Wanna Share About Twitter

Because I know more and more of us are taking advantage of how Twitter can be used, I thought I'd share a few tips I learned and am learning. Whether you are new Twitter or a reluctant Tweeter, I hope this tips are helpful and make your Tweeting more fun and productive.

  • People can be lazy when it comes to social media....so when it comes to Twitter for instance, I suggest you create a link for them so they can just click in addition to giving them your name (handle).
  • To get more followers, go ahead and start following people. From what I've learned, the more you follow the more people will follow you back. This is the first tip I ever got and it was from @jordanasands and it works.
  • Take advantage or trends like "FF" which is "Follow Friday", pick of few people you follow Tweet their handles and so that others will follow them. They will return the favor and this increases followers for everyone. Also, send "Shout outs" to some of your favorite people, followers so appreciate this.
  • Put a picture on your profile as soon as you can, people don't like following something or someone they can't see.
  • Use the Bio section to put something that says something special and important about you.
  • Spruce up your page, it's relatively simple and fast, it goes a long way because unlike human beauty,Twitter beauty counts a lot!
  • Dont pay for services they claim to get you followers. You want followers that actually care about your Tweets.
  • Learn the lingo, Favoriting, Hashtag, Tweeps, Tweeups, etc, are common terms used. Be and stay updated, because social media changes very fast.
  • Follow people and organizations you really care about without worrying if you'll be followed back. But watch for those followers who follow just to unfollow you to look like they have more genuine followers. They are SO annoying.
  • Re-tweet things you really like and you'll eventually get re-tweeted too.
  • Use smart and free third party internet tools to learn more and get more followers. Here is a great post with amazing resources and links. Of course, I use the free ones. http://www.computerhope.com/tips/tip149.htm
So there you go. I'm sure there are so many more things to explore but to keep things simple and save you time...I'll keep this short and sweet....

If you have some tips for me, go ahead and share them with us on the comment section below.

Oh and by the way...follow me here.............
