What to do When Noise is Driving You Crazy!

One of the problems I had and reason I did work on creating a sacred space was that I had very high anxiety and panic attacks. I had gone through so much and was extremely jumpy. As part of my sacred space, I added ambient sound and purpose-specific sounds. I had a small purifier and that added the white noise I needed to block out noisy traffic outside my first floor window and my upstairs neighbor’s incessant walking back and forth wood floors with her heels.

In San Francisco, I lived on the first floor and I heard all kinds of noises outside including people walking, having conversations and even sneezing. It was a studio and the living room was the bedroom. I listened to my collection of music and nature recording to additionally mask the unwanted noises. To create my own sound while using my sacred space I would ring a special bell while doing space clearing or meditating.

Space Clearing

Space clearing is a way of moving the stagnant energy or “chi”, or uplifting a negative atmosphere. While I used bells, some people also use gongs. Gongs and bells come in different shapes and sizes which allow for different vibrations and frequency of sound. Many years later when I moved back to New York, I knew I was in for some major noise pollution. I was right. There are emergency vehicle sirens every few minutes, air planes overhead, construction projects everywhere, people playing music loudly in their cars and out their windows, trains, cars and motorcycle screeching and much, much more. This can drive anyone crazy. In fact, there was a recent 2015 study that found that noise pollution was a major contributor to high blood pressure. But you don’t need a study to tell you that noise can disrupt your sleep, affect your concentration, make you feel impinged upon, make you irritable and affect your whole quality of life. This is serious business. So what can you do? The best way to handle it if you must be in place and you can’t just pick up and leave is to either insulate or mask it. It is much harder to insulate because this can be expensive or you may not have to right/permission to make certain physical changes in certain places.

Masking Noise

When considering masking you have more options. There is the use of white sound machines that specifically block out unwanted noise. Therapists’ office use white noise makers often to increase privacy while in a session with a client so others outside won’t hear what is confidential. I personally used my purifier for multiple purposes. A person can also add chimes, drumming or guided meditation audio. One of my favorite aspects is the ability to use ones creativity. You use what you find either relaxing or stimulating, depending on what your goal is. Another way to mask noise is to use heavy drapes or materials to mitigate some of the offending noise. If you can afford it or are able to, carpeting helps as well as other soft materials like acoustic ceiling panels and sound blocking doors. Fortunately, there are many more options available, even stick on wall panels, check this link for an example: http://soundstop.co.uk/solutions/wall_solutions/wall_solution_1.php.
I knew someone who lost their spouse and when they took time to grieve in their sacred space they would re-play the last voice mail their loved one left for them. It gave this person incredible comfort and also allowed them to release pent up pain and sorrow. The point is that you are in control of your sacred space. There is no wrong as long as you are not impinging on someone else’s space. This space is for your personal and private process. It needn’t be shared with anyone else. It’s up to you what you want to disclose.

Advice For A Broken Heart Heals Like Magic

Healing is As Complex As We Are

Advice for a broken heart can work like magic and help to heal you provided you are willing to listen and take the advice to heart.

In addition to the book, I just wrote HeartBreak: How Do I Fix It Fast?, which contains unconventional techniques which actually work, this piece serves to get the wheels of healing going so you can live the love-filled exciting life you deserve IF you are will, ready and able.

The primary thing is to use your common sense as you evaluate the words of wisdom given to you. Read on to find commonsense words of healing that come from the heart as well as the brain.

The feelings of loss that come with a breakup can be really intense. Healing a broken heart following the loss of a love can take quite a lot of time.

Nothing quite comes close to the sadness and the despair that are felt following the dissolution of a longstanding relationship. Sometimes you are simply going to want to get back with your ex, and sometimes you are going to simply want to forget them completely. Either way, it will definitely take some time for you to handle your broken heart. Regrouping and finding a way to get your emotions in order again is vital.

Rushing into a relationship for a rebound is rarely going to work out on a long-term basis. This is the reason why rebound relationships are regarded as they are. Rather than rushing into something that is only going to create more heartbreak, it would be wise to settle down your feelings and take things slow for a while so you can feel better. You can date if you feel comfortable doing so, but take it slow rather than rushing into something that will cause more harm more than good. Don’t get serious, too fast if you want to recover from your broken heart rather than allowing it to rule you.

- Pause and take the time to regroup rather than rushing into dating, or rushing into trying to find a replacement relationship. If you come off as too needy, you will appear unappealing to most people out there. Take a dating time out. Instead, allow your emotions to be settled a bit before you make any decisions regarding your love life.

- Talk things out. Find a close friend and sit down with them, discussing things as thoroughly as you can. Listen to their advice for a broken heart and take their input to heart. Outside parties can usually be more objective than you during occasions like these. However, if the advice is judgmental remember sometimes people want to help but are themselves confused as to what the right thing to say is. In that case, take time and do some research from healing professionals who can truly provide helpful advice.

- Do not try to rekindle things right away. You may feel desperate to get your ex back, but if you act desperately, things may get worse. If your plan is to get your ex back, relax and take things slow. Play it slow and casual, begin things as friends, then let things develop slowly and only if they are really meant to.

It may be fruitful to date a couple of new people first, settling your emotions and calming your neediness down. Give your ex time to think about you, and to decide what they are looking for in life. When they see that you are doing fine and are not needy, you may begin to appear attractive to them again. This could be an excellent way to slowly woo them back into your life-if you are meant to be together. Just take things slow and play it cool, and again, if it is meant to be, it will. This is the best and most advantageous way to get your ex back, if that is your plan.

As you can see, some of the best advice for a broken heart is simply to give it time to heal and as it does you will indeed be able to move forward with your life.

Broken Hearts are Everywhere

So many people are walking around with a broken heart and toxic relationships with no healing. They say time heals all wounds, but anyone who has felt the pain of heartbreak knows they do not want to wait for the pain to go away. This book is not just about breakup recovery or grief and loss; it uses rare techniques to relieve the pain of heartbreak including humor, that really work. You will increase love and romance in your life from the core. You won't find dating and relationship advice like this anywhere else in one place.

Here you will read about:
The sources of heartbreak including the death of a loved one
The types of romantic relationships that exist including twin flames, soul mates, life partners, karmic partners and flings
You will see what does not work like abiding by outdated emotional contracts and how to change them
Things you can do to accelerate your healing from heartbreak with little known techniques like using sound, specific mantras, body movements, embodied writing, technology tools and more
An introduction on your energy centers how to heal them
How you can remove toxic energy cords and shield from toxic people
The power of self-care, Feng Shui and creating a sanctuary to help you heal in general and how specifically to attract the right romantic partner to you
Avoiding the “oh no, you didn’t” moments in dating and
Your FREE bonus guide to energy cleansing and clearing

The approach is to take what does work and infuse the spiritual energy into the healing process that is often missing. Too many sources simply neglect or dismiss our spiritual existence that is inextricably connected. Hence, the intention of this book is to provide, from the author’s experience, heart and soul, some insight, techniques, and tips, to get through pain of heartbreak. She uses what she has learned from thousands of clients, independent research and a rich source of personal experience with heartache. Some of what you will read will very much include the use of humor because this is a miraculous pain reliever. Hence much of this book will have a perspective that will show you how silly some things can be, silly enough to make us laugh, what the author calls the “Oh, No Moments”.

Here is the starting point to healing from all kinds of relationship pain and be excited about love again.

Heartbreak, How to Start Healing and Pre-book Post

Heartbreak is one of the issues I come across as a coach, consultant and writer. It inspired me to write a book dedicated to healing heal the pain as soon as possible with techniques rarely used. The book Heartbreak: How Do I Fix it Fast? will be out very soon. In the meantime, please read this post with some simple tips to the the wheels of healing turning.

For most of us, one of the biggest reasons why we easily get into the pit of depression is that we are easily disappointed or we tend to expect so much. Young and old people tend to raise the bar of expectation to high and, in the process, find themselves forlorn. Just consider:

-> A young boy who wants to play baseball but wasn’t included in the game;
-> A teenage girl who did not get a date for the prom;
-> A young woman who was not admitted to the Ivy League;
-> A father who finds out that her 16-year old daughter is pregnant;
-> A blushing bride who finally found out that she did not really marry Mr. Right; and
-> A young mother who was told by the doctor that her baby has Down’s Syndrome.

These are just some examples of major disappointments encountered by people everyday around the world. We all go through life hoping for the best and getting what is not. Of all the let-downs we experience — from finances to our careers — perhaps nothing can compare to the utter depression that comes after a failed marriage or a relationship that has gone sour.

In the middle of the heartbreak and loneliness, you also begin to question yourself why these things happened to you. You spend sleepless nights wondering if you’ll ever have a chance to recover from all your disappointments, or if there is a medicine that can cure your despair.
It’s been said over and over again: Into each life, a little rain must fall. Yet somehow, you feel that what you got was more than just a drizzle. You are in the middle of an emotional typhoon that rages on and on. No matter what you do, you just can’t find shelter from the storms of life.

But you cannot just give up on yourself and on life. Somehow, all of us must find the courage and determination to hang on and keep on living — one day at a time. Yes, it is painful when we always feel we are wronged, cheated, judged harshly, neglected, and unloved. Being good does not guarantee that the world would be good at us. Pain and evil cause people to suffer, whether they are good or bad.

So what can we do when we find ourselves stranded in an island of despair? What do we do when we feel so hopeless and alone?

There are many ways we can cope and survive depression and all of life’s trials. It takes a lot of effort and commitment but the only real, viable option for us to take is to hope despite all odds. Beating depression is, by no means, an easy task. But here are some simple ways to start on your way back to emotional health:
  • Recognize and learn from your disappointments;
  • Get into the root of your anger;
  • Join a counseling group or seek the assistance of a professional counselor;
  • Spend time to evaluate your situation and identify ways how you can prevent history from repeating itself; and
  • Try to do engage in writing therapy which may take the form of writing a daily journal or a diary.
Depression is part and parcel of life. Yet we cannot let depression control our lives. Being bitter or entertaining self-defeating thoughts will not help you get back on track towards personal growth and fulfillment. We must all learn how to weather the storms of depression and have faith that a new, brighter day awaits us.

The Ultimate Rude Behavior Scale by This is Diana

The "This is Diana" Dumb-ology© Scale

An Excerpt From "Heartbreak, How to Fix it Fast",  the Oh No You Didn't Quest to Bring Back Manners and Reduce Rudeness

I just can't wait to share this with you today. It is the The Dumb-ology© Scale and here it is for you to use. A simple yet powerful tool for your personal use.

The This is Diana Dumb-ology© Scale

A Little Dumb

Plain Ol’ Dumb
Seriously?? Dumb
Ridiculously Dumb
Ludicrously-
Dangerously Dumb
1
2
3
4
5

The Dumb-ology© Scale is a way of measuring the amount of inappropriateness in certain behaviors. I simply call then “dumb” behaviors, but they can have a wide spectrum, ranging from a little annoying to outright dangerous. These include the following:

1. The lowest type of dumb behavior attributed to simple absentmindedness and human error anyone can do to. Slowing down suddenly while walking trying to find an address. Just say sorry and move on.

2. An increase in dumbness that is pretty darn annoying for instance, when someone is having a conversation next to you with someone live or on the phone very unnecessarily loud. Or someone begins eating next to you a full smelly meal on a bus or train.

3. This gets more serious, yet can be avoidable with education and awareness, e.g. I hail a cab in the city, it approaches me and someone out of nowhere takes the cab and leaves me there. You say to yourself “Seriously?”, did that just happen?

4. We are in the chronic dumbness here. You are walking down a city street and someone passes you bumping you really hard and just keeps going. Or someone goes to the restroom and does not wash their hands, or barely wets them touches the knob you are about to touch, yeah, lovely. You wake up a day or two later sick because you have lots of poop bacteria virus all over you. Gross but this DOES happen all the time.

5. This is the one where I really cringe. This is dangerous, serious, deadly dumbness, that if a forethought would be given to the behavior,  harm to one or many can be avoided. This is road rage, violence or anything that causes extreme harm to anyone or anything.

Use the scale in your own daily observations. Compare it with others and see if you agree what a little dumb versus Ludicrously-dangerous dumb is. It might surprise you to see how differently or similarly we each think dumb behavior is.

Abundance Prayer for Everyone

Abundance for Everyone (for the highest good)

Unlike what we have been programmed to believe, I strongly feel we are in a world of abundance. The question is, how do we get to experience our own share of it. Perhaps we can start by thinking of abundance as infinite resources instead of just money, or a car, or a phone, etc. Then ask. Then receive and give freely, knowing there is more than enough.

First see the myth truth image

Now try the prayer and break past false beliefs

The Abundance Prayer

From The Light of Universe that I Am.
From The Love of Universe that I Am.
From The Power of Universe that I Am.
From The Heart of Universe that I Am.

I Decree-

I dwell in the midst of Infinite Abundance. The Abundance
of Universe is my Infinite Source.
The River of Life never stops flowing. It flows through me
into lavish expression. Good comes to me through unexpected
avenues and God works in a myriad of ways to bless me.

I now open my mind to receive my good. Nothing is too good
to be true. Nothing is too wonderful to have happen. With
the Universe as my Source, Nothing amazes me.
I am not burdened by thoughts of past or future. One is
gone. The other is yet to come.

By the power of my belief, coupled with my purposeful
fearless actions and my deep rapport with the Universe,
my future is created and my abundance made manifest.
I ask and accept that I am lifted in this and every moment
into Higher Truth. My mind is quiet.
From this day forward I give freely and fearlessly into
life and Life gives back to me with magnificent increase.
Blessings come in expected and unexpected ways. The Universe
provides for me in wondrous ways.
I AM indeed grateful. And I let it be so.

Objects have Feelings too, Excerpt from "You're Not Crazy, It's Paranormal!"

The Object-Energy Connection

Solid objects look solid, feel solid and act solid but look deeper the way physicist do, and you will find everything in the universe has “space” between its sub-atomic wave/particles, then up to atoms, molecules and up the scale of size. Once it reaches a certain size it seems to have the qualities of solidity, but that’s an illusion. As such it would make sense that objects can and do absorb and hold energy. Where the physics and metaphysics meet is here at this delicate place of visible and invisible. In these places there can exist positive or negative vibration, e.g., energy. Emotions are an extremely strong form of vibration and can range from hate, fear, anger, worry to love, peace, healing and positive intent.

Some sensitives can perceive the energy in objects, and this specialty is called Psychometry. Oftentimes, people find, are given or buy objects that have an unknown history. You will hear many of them give accounts that upon having that object their energy, surroundings and events will take a turn, usually  but not always, for the worse. What is odd is that sometimes when someone is strangely attracted to an object, say at a garage sale or antique shop, there is usually some energy vibration the person is picking up from it. The person may need to touch it, own it, keep it etc. So what I’m saying is that objects can be “haunted”. If possible, it is a very good idea to get the history of the object before it enters your life.

One can accidentally open a door and inadvertently invite an unwanted entity in to our lives. This can happen with a trinket that is given to you as a gift, something purchased or anything at all. The most reliable test is your own body. If you feel a strange vibe from the object, pun intended, then think about what it could mean and ask questions about it. Should you be in a position of already having it and it is causing harm in some way, then this is when a credible person qualified in Psychometry can be contacted with more information and how to discard it appropriately. This is a very crucial point. Some people try their own ways of getting rid of things like, breaking, burning or just throwing out. That may do more harm than good. Be informed and get the right information on how to handle this kind of unwanted object. If something has positive energy, as it is healing, protective, loving energy then obviously you would want to keep it or share it with a loved one.

What the Writer of "Ghost" the Movie said about "You're Not Crazy, It's Paranormal!"

Like millions of other people around the world, I loved Ghost the movie. I loved it so much I even became Broadway Partner when it became a musical on Broadway a few years ago. The movie is not only a beautiful story of how love conquers all including death itself, but it is also very funny and insightful. As a psychic empath (though I was not practicing professionally when the movie first came out), I particularly enjoyed the role of the psychic who first started as a phony but soon realized she really could see dead people.

If you enjoyed this movie as much as I did, you could imagine the joy and pleasure I had the meeting  the Screenwriter of this and other great movies, Bruce Joel Rubin. I met him a few years ago at a meditation session retreat at his former home in Upstate New York . It was an intense open eye meditation that was a very profound experience for me. I then was able to share my book with him some time later when I published it on Amazon.com and asked what he thought of it and here is what he said below.

You can see this and more comments on my book's front pages:

“The spiritual search begins when life and the world as you once knew it transforms into something other, something often unexplainable and incomprehensible.   This book will introduce you to ancient thoughts and concepts to help guide you on your way.  Trust the journey.”

~Bruce Joel Rubin

Screenwriter, GHOST, JACOB’S LADDER, MY LIFE, 1991 Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Screenplay for the 1990 psychological thriller Jacob's Ladder.

As a first time indie author, I could not have asked for a more powerful endorsement, yet I did get some more incredible ones from amazing individuals, for which I am truly grateful for. Why am I sharing this? It is because I want to share with you the many years of pain, fear and subsequent healing I got from situations that are difficult to explain with mainstream psychology, medicine and cultural beliefs. I trust this will help turn a crisis you may be experiencing into a an opportunity for growth and awakening.

Releasing Negative Energy Through Dance

Many of us are private people. We internalize our emotional pain and stresses. But stress can render a body ill when it gets out of control. Instead of throwing it back at yourself, release that negative energy in your life with a little movement.

Dancing has long been a form of self-expression. It might be ballet, ballroom dancing, salsa or hip hop. Movement can express what we feel inside but can’t seem to get out any other way.

Negative energy can change your entire outlook on life. It can:

  • lead to low self-esteem,
  • lead to lack of confidence,
  • cause a myriad of physical health issues and
  • led to anger issues and antisocial behavior
None of these are productive and can harm a person.

Enter, dancing. There are many benefits to taking part in a form of dancing that will appeal to you. One, dancing is exercise. No one wants to admit that, because it is so much fun when you are doing it.

Moving your body in successive motions for a certain period of time is essentially physical exercise. Endorphins are secreted during such activities. They increase well-being and improve mood. These substances also promote clarity and focus. What was bothering you when you stepped into the dance studio or turned on the iPod can be seen in a clearer light after twirling around on the floor.

Such movement also releases stress. Stress can cause internal changes in our bodies. People who suffer from chronic stress are typically more tense and prone to negative thoughts. Stretching the muscles of the body as you dance, releases that tension in the muscles.

Over time, dancing can help you to lower your heart rate and increase your endurance. You are getting in shape. A person in shape is better able to combat negative energy and turn it into a positive.

So, what type of dancing do you have to do? Any type of dance that appeals to you is the simplest answer. Many inner city kids have found an alternative to violence with a new urban style of dancing called krumping. It is characterized by sharp movements that are essentially put together by the dancer. Whatever they are feeling dictates how they will move.

Instead of fighting in the streets, they are holding dance competitions to battle with their bodies. Through movement negative feelings, fears, hate and drama are displayed to an audience. Some say that dancing has saved their lives. By giving their feelings an outlet, they no longer have to waste their energy on violence.

Dancing allows the body to move in different ways, releasing negative energy and tension from the muscles and the mind. It doesn’t matter what form of dance you participate in so long as it speaks to your need to embrace positive thoughts and energy.

Can You Explain this Strange Image

Enlarged section of the orb

This close up image above was taken by me at a fundraiser a few holidays ago. It is in my book in the "orbs" section. Below you will see the original photo in context. I was very moved by it and many other photos taken that night. As I have said in my book  and whenever I speak of this, orbs are very controversial and interesting.

Many skeptics simply dismiss them as,

  • dust,
  • water,
  • bugs,
  • sand,
  • snow,
  • a hoax
  • or camera malfunction.
Although these explanations do work or certain anomalies, they cannot explain all of them. Certainly not so many I've caught directly on my camera under certain specific circumstances. So I ask:

Can you explain this beautiful orb and what it means?

Image from book "You're Not Crazy, It's Paranormal!"

The gentleman with the orb above was in the Military though I cannot say whether the orb is directly related to him or not. However, you will see several other orbs in the photo. One in on his right arm near his bicep and others are a bit more faded spread throughout the image.

I ask that you take a look at the many more images in my book along your own photos and see what appears in them you may not have noticed before.

Connected (some of) the dots of the Paranormal

“When convention and science offer us no answers, might we not finally turn to the fantastic as a plausibility?” – David Duchovny as Fox Mulder (The X-Files, “Pilot”)

I think one of the most misunderstood things about the paranormal is that it may be "normal". There is so much we don’t understand. Perhaps simply don’t possess the technology yet to be able to fully understand the phenomena out there. If we did, wouldn’t those paranormal investigators be out of a job? Their area of study would just be “normal investigation”, nothing “para” about it. Nevertheless, their work must be done as the modern and mainstream accepted sciences want no part of it for the time being. Whatever is happening across the world, regarding all types of paranormal events and phenomena, it’s pretty clear something is going on. Unless the entire planet is in varying states of hallucination and hysteria, and let’s hope we find out if that’s true if it’s indeed happening…

Take another look at the strange happenings in our world. Perhaps, only the fantastic can be proven by the fantastic. Our world’s ecosystems are interconnected through the efforts of plants, animals, and the world around them to keep the circle of life moving. The paranormal maybe connected in the same way. Connected, both in it’s own separate existence from us, and with us moving in concert with our known ecosystems and life cycles. So, in the approach to this large area of the paranormal,  think of ways to connect the dots of the paranormal in such a way that they don’t contradict something else already existing, either in the world as we know it or maybe something that exists to us only in folklore.

To knock a few off the top, the existence of UFOs does not contradict whether the Loch Ness Monster exists or not. Both could co-exist at the same time. Likewise, prophets and their prophecies don’t contradict the existence of ghosts. The cryptozoology field itself has a natural basis for everything in it to be true, just undiscovered. In another direction, the idea of enhanced consciousness and levels of spirituality naturally contradict nothing in the psychical world.

Science is moving in leaps and bounds in certain aspects of this area and it may one day be proven, but for now, telekinesis, telepathy and other mind powers remain in the paranormal category. No “mind power” contradicts any of the above either, it too can exist at the same time. To change directions again, Scottish legends of Little People could fall in a number of categories. It could simply be cryptozoology being a race of pygmies in different areas of the Earth.

It all must be approached with a healthy bit of skepticism of course. There are hoaxed tales and hoaxed evidence to all of the above subjects I listed. The thing to remember is that we’ve got tens of thousands of years of folklore, stories, legends and our modern sights to draw on for information. I believe all the pieces are there to solve some of the puzzle. We just don’t know what the big picture is supposed to look like. The vast majority of this field makes the average person take a leap of faith too far for them most of the time, but if enough people don’t do it, how are we ever to going to the bottom of our planet’s mysteries?
