What I Learned and YOU Should Know From My "Failed" Crowdfunding Indiegogo Campaign

NOTE: Below are This is Diana Website and Radio links, click visit and follow...

It took me a couple of years to launch my Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. I originally created a campaign in to of the main sites, Kickstarter and Indiegogo.  I wanted to be clear of what I wanted to achieve. I wanted to do an album with beautiful heartbreak love songs people love to hear, followed by a live show performing the songs. I did a lot of research on the songs I wanted, musicians, format, and rewards that I would offer my contributors for their support. I would also give 10% to a after hours New York City animal rescue fund. My campaign didn't pass the 1% of the needed funds.

My campaign was a failure. Or was it?

What Went Wrong?
Crowdfunding is the funding of now and the future where one can launch a creative, business, or non profit, project campaign by promoting to the public. The public would in turn get "perks" in return for their contributions.

Very close to the end of my campaign (you have 45 days to fulfill your financial goals). I did a lot of research on Indiegogo and other crowdfunding sites. As I already suspected and from what I saw it is very competitive. What I didn't expect is that you really have to have a PR person or huge team to move your campaign forward. I had neither.

That's not what the original plan was. The original plan as I understood it, was that everyone with a really good project could get access to funding via these sites along with the project creator's effort of course. Since I didn't have a huge PR/Marketing firm I turned to my own network. My network has been created due to years of cultivating relationships of various kinds, doing consultations, being in entertainment, airing broadcasts, and on-going networking events. I turned to those and personal friends and family but oddly got very little response. I was becoming heart broken.

However, the more I researched, the more I learned that much of the funding actually comes from contributors unknown to the project creator. You see the concept though relatively simple is still new to most people. It is hard to explain by an email invitation or post. So that was a relief of sorts. For that to happen any person creating a campaign must reach 20% of their goal. The more you ask for, the more challenging it is to reach that. Hence no promotion or exposure by the crowdfunding site almost insures one will not be successful in their goal.

What Went Right?

Learning and understanding that the crowdfunding process isn't a reflection of the quality of the project or lack of support from family and friends. The success of a campaign is really political and financial. Many phony, silly, even ridiculous campaigns have raised six figures or more, just check here: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/is-crowdfunding-for-everyone-the-successes-failures/.

But nevertheless, it is hard not to take it personally when friends and family won't give as little as a dollar for a campaign they will receive something for. I however understand many didn't really read the posts, promotions and announcement. I also know many have supported me in many other ways, like coming to my events. So I thank sincerely and wholeheartedly thank them for that. Some reached out to me and told me their financial challenges and again, I am grateful they took the time to do that and it wasn't a reflection of the project's quality.

I did get support however from several people who will get ongoing credit and perks from me because of this. Not for this campaign per se since it did not go through but other ways, as publicity from my broadcasts, public speaking, future music shows, personal referrals and references and more. There were those who almost facetiously sent me a note saying "good luck" and did not go unnoticed.

What to Know for Your Campaign

  • Worthiness--Launch your project if you really believe in it, no matter what. Follow the instructions and do your research and don't get caught up on its success of failure. At least you had the courage to put your dreams out there. And what you will learn from the process will be invaluable. As I said above there are really silly ideas and projects that get full funding. However, many are valuable in one way or another. Make sure you emphasize how so.

  • Do research with key words on failed projects. It's important to know what NOT to do. If you just follow what to do, you will not know what to avoid and what you should do instead.
  • Try to explain as much as you can to a few close people, discern whether they are truly interested in your project's success. This is just human nature. If you have tons of people all trying to do the same thing, the thought of competitive scarcity may lead people to not support you because they want to do the same thing. Explain your success is their success. It doesn't have to be a competition at all but a collaboration.

  • Pre-screen your supporters- Do a trial email, calls, posts to see how many people seem interested in your idea. Ask to to commit so supporting you one way or another. Even having them post, forward and share for you is very valuable. It surprising how many people will NOT press the little share button. It makes you wonder...

  • Perks--The idea is for you to give perks, rewards and such to those who contribute. Explain people are not just giving you money. They are paying for something valuable. I was willing to give a full song download for as little as a $1 contribution, along with mentions.

  • If you are fortunate enough to have a marketing team/PR team, utilize it fully. Even if you don't use whatever network you do have, neighbors, co-workers (if at a traditional job), friends, family, and of course social media). It seems like common sense but it is unbelievable how many people don't use the resources they have. Use what you've got baby!

  • Each crowdfuding site had its own criteria for helping you promote. Find out what it is. As I said, for me and Indiegogo it was to reach at least 20% of the total goal then you get featured and tada!! You get promoted and much funding from that alone. So the amount you choose originally for your project matters. It is much harder to get 20% of $35,000 than it is for $350.

My Lesson
Failure and success are relative terms. And believe me I've been on the failure rodeo plenty of times. I was very reluctant to launch my campaign. I was fearful it would not go through. Guess what, it didn't go through and I survived! Oh but I learned so much.

For instance:
-How the process continues to evolve. Crowdfunding is here to stay in some way, form or another.
-How people in your life close are a far affect your goals and dreams--to the extent that you allow them.
-What really matters to me.
-How to accept failure and find the silver lining. And be creative to find something that is useful in the process.
-That just because many did not support this project, doesn't mean I take it personally. I can absolutely tell who didn't quite understand what this process is, who is struggling financially, and who don't actually care to participate in what I do (and that is totally okay too).
-To continue to do what I believe in for the ultimate higher good.

My advice: Stay strong with your project no matter what. There are always other ways to do it, move it forward, create it etc. Just keep loving what you do, learning and trusting your intuition at all levels and always.

Do email me with any questions or comments and best of luck on your goals!

$1 In Less than 11 Days For Music/Animal Rescue Combo Campaign On Indiegogo

What is Needed
The time is almost up for my Indiegogo campaign to fund my first album and give a percentage to animal rescue. Many have told me they didn't know about this project so I'm sending the information again.

As little as $1 in the next 11 days that each person adds can still make it happen. If you want to participate please click here: Diana's Music Project

The Project,
I've always believed that music is the universal language...

Growing up in New York City, I was exposed to music early on because my family would be invited to Churches in all five boroughs and we would perform music them for them. Being bilingual I sang in both English and Spanish. But as years went on, school and life to precedence and music was just an occasional hobby.

Many years later I experienced a spiritual awakening and my life changed. Priorities shifted and being creative was the biggest pull I felt. I slowly reacquainted myself with one of my favorite genres, songs from the American Songbook, by vising New York venues where there was live music. Magic began to happen for me.

There is no shortage of singers and music but I had the pleasure to meet and work with many of the professionals who have been in the business for years. They welcomed and took me in. With no official technical training they knew I had natural ability, passion and heart when I sing. Almost a decade later I have had the pleasure of doing professional shows and even showcases for other singers regularly. I recently however felt it was time to do an album like most of my colleagues, but in with Spanish songs added, as well as live show to follow via Indiegogo

Crowdfunding
I heard about this process called crowdfunding where one can launch a creative or project campaign by promoting to the public. The public would in turn get "perks" in return for their contributions. I created a campaign in to of the main sites, Kickstarter and Indiegogo but did not launch it on Indiegogo until 2 years later. I wanted to create enough of a reputation at creating events, doing radio broadcasts, and singing to properly present it. I added a personal component to give a percentage to an animal rescue group, since that is one of my passions---do see no animal hurt, neglected, abused, etc.

Every bit counts in projects like these so even a single $1 can and will help. With less than 11 days left you or someone you know who loves music performed with heart can make this happen.

All info can be found here  and of course Thank you to those who have already supported this.

September/October 2013 Goings On, And Info on Diana's Indiegogo Music/Animal Rescue Project

Bi-lingual Bittersweet Beautiful Songs and Animal Rescue Via Indiegogo

The Indiegogo Project
I have a few weeks to meet a funding goal. I went via Indiegogo, a crowd funding site that allows one to raise funds for project while providing "perks" for anyone who contributes financially to the project. You can see all details including perks by clicking here.
This campaign is to create a music CD/album titled “Bi-lingual Sweet Melancholy Songs, Songs You Want To Hear and Help Animal Rescue" where I sing classic and enduring Jazz Standards songs in both English and Spanish. These are songs people love to hear. We secretly crave these songs but sometimes deny it because they’re about passion and heartbreak. These are the songs that people play over and over again and bring the old cabaret/speakeasy/ "Gatsby" feel to Jazz Standards singing. I am proud to sing some in English and some with equal passion in Spanish. Additionally, and very importantly I will give 10% of what I make to a specially chosen New York City animal rescue group that actually rescues stray or hurt animals off-peak hours. This does not currently exist in any current animal rescue center. This will be announced publicly.
You can help by giving as little as a $ 1 and honestly everything counts. I ask for your contribution to help create this project I envision which will benefit so many, including animals.

This is the famous Lucky Charlie Spencer Navarro who I rescued (he rescued me actually) from the harsh Brooklyn Streets in 2006, hungry, dirty and abandoned. Not any more. He is so loved but I'm the "lucky one to have him.

This Indiegogo campaign takes what I love to do, which is bring people together, sing, mingle, while providing all a space for celebration and give a percentage to animal rescue. The link below goes into more detail.
If you know of anyone who can either help fund the campaign or provide the information on animal rescue group/person who does after hours rescue, please send this to them.

When Calamities Spark A Spiritual Awakening

YOU CAN NOW HEAR THIS IN A BROADCAST HERE

Disclaimer: This post is informational only. Any issues should be first addressed with a medical professional to properly diagnose and exclude any physical, psychological and mental conditions and/ or illness.

A Visit To My Spiritual Awakening
I wrote a manuscript seven years ago. It's in my computer's hard drive. This manuscript is about my spiritual awakening. However, every time I thought I was reaching a good place to stop writing and send it to be published I would encounter another huge challenge that put the breaks on it. I realized I didn't need the book published in order to share is crucial information that can potentially help many in a spiritual state of emergency crisis and confusion. I already do that through my blog, and intuitive sessions, talks and broadcasts. So welcome to some information I trust will ease your process and make this journey as exciting as it truly is.

I went through a series of extremely difficult challenges beginning in 1999. It began with my mother's sudden death from a rare cancer, and continued into my move to San Francisco California where I endured ridiculous adversities. These included caring for someone who was very ill and struggling 3,000 miles from anyone I loved and trusted. I experienced for the first time issues of being completely isolated. I myself became ill. I ran out of money, no one would hire me no matter how qualified or educated I was and it was 2002 a post 9/11 world. To top it all off I was facing eviction. I was very close to being in the streets with my cats and belongings.

After working tons of temp jobs, running out of unemployment extensions, getting that eviction notice, still openly grieving my mother's death, I had what I call "The Dark Night of My Soul". I walked in one day to my quaint studio apartment on Nob Hill from yet another disappointing interview, turned off all my lights and phone and laid down for what felt the deepest darkest moment of my life. I thought to myself I give up, I can't fight any more. I sank into a deep sleep. I didn't drink, eat or take anything. I just fell into darkness. The deepest pain I've ever felt. All the years of going to college, graduate school, working multiple jobs, counseling people rescuing animals, all for nothing. I couldn't survive without material resources to eat, pay rent and live.

I don't know how long it was before I felt a warmth on the right side of my head. Apparently I was sleeping on my back and in addition to this warmth I felt a bright light. I know when I fell into this sleep it was evening and I didn't get direct sun light into my living room. So what was this light? I wondered. The warmth enveloped me and I saw, literally saw a light in the ceiling above me. I lived in the ground floor of a walk-up and clearly didn't have a hole in the ceiling. I cannot describe the light except it was utterly beautiful. Up to this day I cannot put in words what I felt at that moment. It's as if that light had consciousness. It was alive and communicated to me with pure love and no verbal words... "It's all right". I felt as if when a loved one puts their forehead against yours. A rush of emotion like I had never felt moved through me like a tidal wave. I wept from the deepest part of my soul, not feeling alone for the first time since my mother's death. I cried for what seemed forever. I cried so much my abdomen ached. But I felt alive again. That was the beginning of my psychic opening and awakening. But it was not the end of my challenges and struggles. and I had some doozies ahead.

Throughout this time something odd happened to me. What I always thought was a defect, my being oversensitive to everyone and everything, was actually a psychic gift. I was an empath.

In a recent post I put some information about who psychics are, are not, and what some of the names which are used describe psychics. I also spoke of my particular affinity to be an empath and for the sake of ease and clarity I have placed it again below.

An Empath is an Intuitive who in addition to expressing empathy (the ability to put oneself in another person or animal's place emotionally, physically and spiritually), has abilities and characteristics that go beyond the normal five senses. Empaths are extremely sensitive to their environment, people and animals. S/he literally “feels” and senses what others feel, think and the motives behind these. An Empath can receive psychic information by feeling what others feel/think but also via visual flashes, dreams, and connecting synchronicities.

Discovering I was an empath was a messy and clumsy process. Although I had extensive knowledge of psychology and research, there wasn't much written about this phenomenon I was experiencing. What I did know was that it wasn't an illness and I knew it changed me fundamentally. I put my research skills into practice and searched everywhere until I found information on what is called spiritual emergencies. One of the resources I found is a book called: Spiritual Emergency: When Personal Transformation Becomes a Crisis (New Consciousness Readers) by Stanislov Grof and Christina Grof . It was extremely helpful and I was able to put the many other pieces of this fragmented process together with some time and begin healing old wounds while preparing for this exciting journey.

What Causes a Psychic Awakening/Opening and What is it Like

Spiritual Awakenings have occurred since the dawn of humanity. It has many names but no matter what race, ethnicity, religion, gender or age it has very specific patterns and manifestations. What triggers an awakening is very individual. Some seek actively seek it. They may go through a religion or spiritual practice. It happens for others when something huge happens in their life, usually a tragedy or a series of adverse events. For others, it may be a gradual process that occurs via prompts, signs and synchronicities. The ultimate reason why an awakening begins is known to your higher self. We all have a calling, a purpose for being here. Some of us know, others don't. Your awakening brings you closer to this calling. What you do with this knowledge is always up to you.

No matter that the trigger or the reason for an awakening the effect is unmistakable. The person's life is changed from inside out. Soon after an awakening you may experience some signs that have been studied, observed and researched.  These experiences vary from person to person. Not everyone feels the same things and in the same intensity. Some are physical, some are emotional and some are spiritual. Below are just some of the signs, not an all inclusive list. For that,  I suggest you do some online searches.. Oh, one more thing. Not everything is going to resonate with you. So use your common sense and gut to determine what does.

Some signs that may indicate a spiritual awaking are:
  • Changes in your five senses (should you have them all). Heightened or changes in hearing, tasting, smelling, touching and seeing. You may see, hear, taste, smell and feel things differently. You may experience things with your senses that are not experienced by others around you unless they have spiritually awakened. See flashes of light, shadows, hear sounds bells, music, feel heat, cold not due to regular environmental factors, etc.
  • Drastic changes in your sleep cycle. You may need much more sleep, much less sleep or sleep in chunks of 3 hours at a time.
  • Strange vibrations within your body. Some report feeling as if they had their phone on vibrate but with nothing out side to cause this sensation. It is internal and an effect of your nervous system interacting with your subtle (spiritual) body.
  • Intensely lucid dreams, including out of body experiences. These dreams are un-disputably vivid and you are fully aware you are dreaming. You can often control events in your dreams. So experience soul travel or out-of-body experiences where your astral self is aware it is outside of your living, breathing resting body. This is nothing to worry about and there is much literature on it to help with any fears associated with it.
  • You may affect electronics around you, watches, computers, other machinery may not function normally. This is again a reaction of your own body's electromagnetic energy interacting with the outside to such a degree it disrupts the normal function of of those items.
  • You may feel very differently about your life, career, family, friends, politics, religion, animals and the planet. Many times spiritual awakening be be your initiation into the process of Lighwork. The work of healing, self and others with light, love, your personal talents, and skill sets. I find this to be one of the most challenging because you need support during this time. If others don't "get" what you are going through they may openly cause you distress and increase any feelings if uncertainty you may already be experiencing.
  • Higher sensitivity to violent and harsh situations which will lead you to want to avoid these as much as possible. Violent movies, games and even sports you  may have thought were enjoyable are no longer pleasing.
  • Developing different tolerance for food in your diet. You may have an intense desire to change what you eat to healthier, cleansing and whole foods. Some find eating meats no longer possible while others may need to eat more to calibrate their system into balance.
  • Developing sudden allergies and skin sensitivities and acne outbreaks. This is very unpleasant but doesn't last forever. Do your due diligence and check with your physician/nutritionist/do our own research if you don't have one, and see if there is an external factor that is triggering this.
  • You may be more focused on healing, loving and helping others. This may seem like a huge task but don't put too much pressure on yourself. Start with yourself of course, then do simple things like recycling, donate to reputable established organizations doing good for the world, open the door for others, say thank you, smile, pet an animal, save an animal, talk to a plant...they DO hear you and it's been scientifically verified.
  • You may desire isolation for some time. This is tricky because again, friends and family may mistake this for depression or illness. After you have checked you are physically and emotionally ok, you may want to give your self the gift of isolation for introspection, meditation, learning and body work like exercise, yoga, listen to high frequency healing sounds and music for instance.

What Can You Do About It

Once an awakening has occurred, it is virtually impossible to go back to a "normal" life. The way you see the world, people, animals and your space will change. You are fundamentally the same but your senses are heightened and transformed.

The best thing you can do is take a deep breath...a lot of deep breaths. The second next thing is do some good old fashion research. Fortunately there are a lot more resources available than there were 10 years ago. On on the internet alone you can find most of what you'll need. However, nothing can replace the help of another human being to hear about what you are experiencing. Ideally, you would want to have multi-prong resource plan available.

  • Read and research a lot. There is so much information available including what others have experiences, how they are coping, and what to expect so check as much literature,(books, blogs, articles, magazines) as you can.
  • Find a professional in the spiritual healing community (a legitimate psychic/intuitive),
  • Explore seeing a holistic therapist, or other mental health professional versed in spiritual emergencies.
  • Research a group of fellow individuals who can share your experiences in a private, secure environment. Sometimes the people closest to you may have the most difficult time supporting you through this process. This may be due to fear, lack of knowledge, confusion, or even a bit of envy. With time and the correct way of communicating with them this can be eased. But sometimes, sadly you may have to distance yourself from anyone who is hurtfully negative towards you and your experience.
  • Take more mindful care of your body, your emotions and your spirit. Self nurture is very crucial.
  • Don't rush this process. Many get eager and start exploring ways to accelerate their spiritual journey and get themselves burned out or over-loaded. Everyone has their own pace, so rushing into practices like kundalini yoga (or any mind/body/spirit practice), beginning to explore tools like tarot, pendulums without proper preparation, guidance and information, can be very counter-productive and even dangerous.

I discuss much of this with my clients during intuitive sessions. I often find that people who seek this type of guidance do so because they themselves are highly intuitive and may be going through a spiritual awaking or spiritual growth spurt and frequency leap. In any case, it is important to note that this is not a linear process with predictable steps. However, there is enough information and tools from the many people who have and are experiencing this incredible transformation. Congratulations on your awakening and welcome to the world of Lightwork.

I've had it With Rudeness! Bringing Manners Back as Psychic-Empath Lightworker and Explaining What That Means

For More Info Check www.thisisdiana.com

The incentive I Needed

Recently, I expressed my feelings of being displeased with behavior of some folks I believed were my colleagues. I stated that although not obligatory, it is socially and professionally expected to be appreciated for services provided. That appreciation can take many forms, a simple thank you, a public acknowledgement, referrals (especially if helps the person's business), offer of some compensation for future services, and so on. Any of these gestures would do. That is what I was attempting to express since I didn't receive any of the above for providing one of the services I do as a psychic-empath, social connecting.

Oddly I had an extremely negative reaction including being dismissed as being "too sensitive". Needless to say they currently do not speak to me. At first I felt very offended because I thought I had established enough rapport to be supported and respected. However, I quickly realized I had to 1) Let it go because my point was not going to be understood, 2) Share it so we can all learn lessons from this.

So, as a professional I did let it go. Knowing it's a connected world and we will see each other again at some point. As an psyhic-empath I thought to myself, They are right in calling me too-sensitive. That's a good thing because what it actually means is that I sense from them why this situation occurred and can tell where it's heading. This isn't easy to share directly with people who don't have a certain level of intuitive awakening, hence this post. This experience, one of many actually, served as an incentive to describe exactly what I do as a psychic-empath and what kind of work is in progress because of it.

What Kind of Psychics are There and what do I specifically do

Before I go any further let me explain what an Empath is:

An Empath is an Intuitive who in addition to expressing empathy (the ability to put oneself in another person or animal's place emotionally, physically and spiritually), has abilities and characteristics that go beyond the normal five senses. Empaths are extremely sensitive to their environment, people and animals. S/he literally “feels” and senses what others feel, think and the motives behind these. An Empath can receive psychic information by feeling what others feel/think but also via visual flashes, dreams, and connecting synchronicities.

The above experience of being snubbed gave me the perfect opportunity to unveil one of the most important projects I've been working on for some time. It's called "I see Dumb People: The Quest to End Rudeness and Increase Harmony With Manners©". This is the result of over two decades of research, counseling, advising, observations, spiritual inquiry and very challenging personal experiences.

You may or may not know that there are many types of Psychics. I mean real legitimate people who use their intuition to serve humanity with light, love and healing in many ways. They are called many names including Sensitives, Seers, Oracles, Intuitives, Mediums, Empaths, Lightworkers, Clairvoyants, and good old fashion Psychics. The younger generations being born are called Indigo, Crystal and Star children. There is quite a bit of information on this out there should you want to know more about each type.

You should also know that there are other types of people with intuitive gifts who don't use it to spread light and love. They are also called Psychics, fortune-tellers, any of the above names, Gypsy Psychics (though not all Gypsy's are in this category--hear the show with Psychic Medium Mark Anthony who elegantly tells us the difference) and what I term as Charlatans. These people may or may not have genuine psychic abilities but use whatever skill they do have to hurt, profit, and destroy others with no care or repercussions. We won't go into detail here on that but will in the near future.

*Like my Facebook page and stay in touch with me on Facebook

What a (genuine) Psychic is NOT
  • Happy-go-lucky all the time, We are human beings. We get hurt, angry, jealous, and sad like everyone else. But we work on it as humans that we are.
  • Omniscient in this human form. We most certainly do not have all the answers. Some are more skilled at certain abilities than others. But as for me, I see signposts, trajectories, potentialities, and current patterns.
  • Someone who should be disrespected and devalued because we charge for our contribution. We do as any other human does for their life;s work (musician, carpenter, accountant, dancer, actor etc.). Intuitive work is very, very challenging, emotional and important beyond words. A skilled, ethical intuitive should and does charge reasonably for what they offer as light, healing, and resources. For more this I ask you listen to a special broadcast I did with Psychic Mark Anthony On Life, Death and Healing.
  • Available 24/7 for every question, it is important for clients to do critical self-work within the power of their own free will.
  • Necessarily from the same spiritual belief or religious system as other psychics.
  • The same as other psychics in skill type, level, compassion, integrity and understand.
  • Someone who casts spells to control others. That's messing with Free Will and a big Karmic no-no.
Therefore, a genuine psychic ideally is open to increasing their skills, understanding, and wisdom. Also, cooperation, support, and exchange of resources would be amazing goals within this community.

The Work I Do

For the sake of simplicity, I will refer to the work I do as a psychic empath. As an empath, I've had to learn through much hard work to put boundaries between what others are feeling and what I feel. It is so difficult to tell the difference, especially as a child. Many children who are called oversensitive are empaths and suffer so much because of ignorance and lack of support. Fortunately, times are changing and there is much more awareness.

It is often difficult to see this ability as a gift. If feels like a curse because for some reason most empaths are attuned to others' pain as opposed to positive feelings. With the right resources that can change. Not only does boundary work help understand the pain, it helps one to receive more of the feelings of love, compassion and joy.

Boundary work is really a life-time project. That's the bad news. The good news is, it's doable and you get stronger, better and more resources with time. Boundary work is also complex and takes stepping out of the logical realm into the balanced realm. The balanced realm includes logical reasoning with non-linear, creative and spiritual exploration.

As an empath I want everyone and everything to feel good. That means people, animals, and the environment (yes the environment can sense). Why? Well maybe an admittedly selfish reason is that if you feel good, I feel good. In either case, I always declare what I do be for the highest and greatest good of all. That means there are a lot, I mean a lot of people who do NOT feel this way. That's humanity...free will for all. So in a way it's kind of a war of spreading light versus pain. Notice I didn't say dark...dark can be a good thing.

One way I am contributing is to do a work of pointing out what decreases social harmony, e.g. rudeness and explore ways of increasing harmony, e.g. manners.. After all in a planet with 7 billion people, not counting all the billions of non-human animals, we've got some work to do. It is quite simple really. You start with YOU. Being self-aware and other-aware, then taking proper action is a good place to start. In "I see Dumb People: The Quest to End Rudeness and Increase Harmony With Manners©" I speak in both a serious and humorous way about some of things we all do that range from absent mindedness to dangerously rude. I also point out times we can do something about it and times we shouldn't. For those times we shouldn't because it may put us or others at risk of harm, I have this work to share via writings, broadcast, storytelling and one-woman show.

Other offerings include: Private intuitive sessions (with or without intuitive tools) that incorporate psychological-spiritual principles, Celebratory Events with Social Connection Referral Services and Entertainment and Support for Animal Rescue and other worthy Causes.

If you want to share your thoughts or keep up with this work, contact me and I will keep you updated via email and tweets.

Say Yes to Events That Elevate You...No to same ol' same ol' 8/18/13 in New York City

It's amazing to me how many people say NO to things that are good for them. No to healthy food, no to healthy romantic relationships, NO to meeting people who are good for them..NO! NO! NO!

Why? Well, the reasons abound and differ from person to person. But can it be any of these for you? Because of:
  • past disappointments,
  • not wanting to leave your so called comfort zone,
  • fear of the unknown and being disappointed,
  • fear of not being accepted,
  • perceived costs (financial/emotional)...and the list goes on.

However, you must know that we humans are social creatures. If you are in place like, say New York City with so many people, one can ironically feel very isolated. It takes time, patience and creativity to find your social nook.

Research shows that the more we enrich our lives by getting out of our comfort zone, the healthier our brains and bodies will be. Hence a better and longer life overall. If we don't, sadly we begin to atrophy and wither away a bit a time. Where are you?

I am in a place in my life, that after much loss, I wanted to claim what I was entitled to. That is being around healthy, loving, creative people to share joyful times with. I had some challenges finding this so I decided to take the relationships which have taken me years to cultivate and bring people together. May it be 3 or 300 people, I desire one thing. And that happens to be to create a reason to celebrate life and each other. This gives us the energy and sustenance to handle our personal challenges with vigor and hope. My Sunday Summer SoirĂ©e and other events I put together are away of gathering together with quality people, in quality place and doing quality activities.  I hope you will join in and know you CAN be among friends.
